Great Skin Everyday

Great skin everydayEvery woman wants that elusive glow on her face. A facial or pregnancy or even love can do the trick, but only temporarily. For a more lasting effect, all you need is a little TLC (tender, loving care) and a good skin care routine. Even if you manage to religiously devote 15 minutes out of your busy schedule to your skin everyday, you will see all the difference. So, get ready to start glowing...

  1. Sunscreen
Start your daily skin care regime with sunscreen. Never step out without it. Re-apply every three hours in the sun. Exposure to rays is the biggest cause of dry and wrinkled skin. Use a sunscreen with SPF 15 if you have a desk job. Those with the field jobs should use ones with SPF 30+. Nowadays, many moisturisers and foundations come with sun protection.
Tip: You can apply sunscreen lotion to your lips too

  2. Cleansing
Your next step is to cleanse your skin after coming back home. Your cleanser should be in the form of a water-soluble cream or gel. If you apply moisturiser at night, you will need to cleanse it in the morning too.
Tip: Splash your face with some warm water. Take cleanser and apply it in a circular motion, then rinse with cool water. If you have excessively oily skin, use a PH-balanced soap.

  3. Toning
Your next ritual is toning. This is meant to remove all traces of grease, make up and dirt from your face. There are some good cleansers that can also do this job.
Tip: Those with very sensitive skin can mash strawberries, apply it for five minutes and wash it off.

  4. Moisturising
Moisturisers have water, oil and a number of ingredients that leave the skin soft and supple. Everyone irrespective of their skin type should moisturise, except those who have acen. When your skin is tight, it's crying out for moisture. However, avoid excessive moisturising as it clogs the pores.
Tip: Use an oil-free moisturiser if you get frequent pimples

  5. Exfoliation
Exfoliation helps you get rid of dead skin cells and makes way for new ones. If you have oily skin, you need to exfoliate 4-5 times a week, while those with dry or sensitive skin can do it once or twice.
Tip: Use a scrub at least twice a week. It will make the skin feel soft and rejuvenated.
