Home Remedy For Dark Skin
Aryan asks,
I am 29 years old. I have a dusky complexion and my face is darker than rest of my body. I want to have fair skin. Are there any creams in the market or home remedies for this problem?
Dear Aryan,
Exposed areas tend to be more pigmented than the rest of the body. Since you have a combination skin use a face wash meant for oily skin. Use a good sun block, which is oil-free, oil control (water-based). Mix 1 dot of sun block with 1 dot of Lactocalamine and apply. Since Lactocalamine is a natural sunscreen it gives double protection - reapply every 3-4 hours. Prepare a scrub of milk cream, lemon juice and sugar and scrub the dark areas twice a week. It lifts the tan, takes off the dead skin cells. Bleaching once a month would also help.
Botox Anti-aging Treatment
Nathan asks,
I am 27 years old but I look very mature. People say that I look 35 years old. Is there anything that can be done on this? Will it be expensive? Will cosmetic surgery work / help?
Dear Nathan,
There is a simple, non-surgical solution to this problem known as - Botox. It is Injected in small doses into the muscle around the eyes, forehead, frown lines that will eliminate all the lines and tired look. The effects are seen within 4-7 days. It is a safe and quick method and hence called the "lunchtime procedure". You will need to repeat it once every 4-6 months. Also you can use any rich night cream, which has anti-aging and anti-wrinkle factors like Nivea and Synergie anti-wrinkle cream.
Cosmetic surgery requires a downtime of 2-3 months and it is little expensive treatment.
Oily Skin
Usman Waheed asks,
I am 20 years old and I have pimples on my face but not in excess. I feel uncomfortable and want to get rid of them. My complexion is fair so they are prominent on my face. Please give me some tips.
Dear Usman Waheed,
Acne is a result of hypersecretion of the oil glands. Use a face wash meant for oily skin 2-3 times a day. Use a good sun block (SPF 30 or above) 2-3-times a day. You can start with an antibiotic belonging to the macrolide group like Azithromycin once a day for 6 days. Locally you can apply anti-acne cream like Adaphalene gel (0.1%) once at night.
