''Thanda Matlab Coca Cola''
But All That Caffeine Matlab Good Or Bad?

Thanda Matlab Coca Cola After watching Aamir Khan in all his myriad get - ups promoting the cola, thanda indeed has become synonymous with coca cola for most people. However, is all the caffeine contained in soft drinks and other beverages such as tea and coffee really good for your health?

When do you need to start worrying about your caffeine intake? Are you also suffering from Coffee Rage? Find out the answers to these questions and a lot more.

Imagine yourself in a situation where you need to stay up late into the night for a final exam or to prepare for that important corporate meeting. Perhaps to care for your children or organize a party at home?

What do you reach for in order to stay awake and alert?

A cup of coffee or a can of cola of course!

In about 15 minutes you will begin to feel more energetic and raring to go. You're wide-awake, alert, and the fatigue that you were feeling is suddenly gone. All these effects can be attributed to caffeine, the main active ingredient in coffee and colas.

This may lead you to believe that caffeine consumption is good for your body. But on the contrary, too much caffeine can be extremely bad for your health, in spite of the pick - me - up feeling that caffeine provides.

Medical experts suggest that consuming 200 - 300 mgs of caffeine (about 2-3 cups of coffee or 2 colas) per day should not result in any harmful effects. However, higher intake of caffeine or even such moderate doses of caffeine can have negative effects for some people such as
  • Irritability (bad temper or moodiness)
  • Insomnia (difficulty falling asleep)
  • Muscle twitching
  • Headaches
  • Nausea (feeling of vomiting)
  • Nervousness
  • Restlessness (difficulty staying still or being calm)

A new illness known as 'Coffee Rage' can also be attributed to caffeine. Just as some people have lactose intolerance and cannot tolerate milk; similarly, many people are caffeine intolerant and their bodies do not react well to caffeine.

Hollywood star Hugh Grant openly admits to suffering from coffee rage. International singing sensation Robbie Williams is another celeb who suffers from coffee rage, thanks to the 36 espressos he was drinking per day! A habit that eventually got him into rehab!

If you feel more tired, depressed, angry, are in a foul mood, or have sudden headaches after drinking even just one cup of coffee, you too may be suffering from Coffee Rage.

Tips On Reducing Caffeine Consumption

Here are some tips to help you cut back on your caffeine intake
  • Tea, coffee, soft drinks (especially colas), energy drinks (including red bull), and various medicines contain caffeine. Thus, be aware about the caffeine content in different products so that you know how much of the drug you are actually consuming.
  • Have no more than 2 cups of coffee or tea per day. Limit your soft drink consumption to one.
  • Brew the tea or coffee for lesser time than you usually do as this releases less caffeine into your drink.
  • Dilute your tea or coffee with milk.
  • If you cannot avoid tea, coffee, or soft drinks totally, at least switch to the decaffeinated type.
  • Try herbal tea instead of regular black tea. Not only will you cut down on your caffeine intake, but herbal tea has some tremendous health benefits as well.

Even if you are not suffering from any side effects of having too much caffeine, it is best to keep your caffeine consumption low so as to keep your health high. Prevention is better than cure after all!
