I am a working woman. I leave home at 8.30 a.m. and return at 8 p.m. I carry a tiffin to my office. I weigh 68 kgs. and my height is 5'3". My tummy is flabby. I have to work on computers for an average 10 hrs. Please suggest a diet chart for me which will help me to reduce weight. At present I take rice twice.

Before you leave home don't forget to eat a good breakfast. Eat some poha , upma , egg whites or some cereal and milk along with some fruit. Carry salads, curds and some roti and vegs. for lunch if possible. Snack on fruits or if not possible eat some idlis or veg. sandwhich or sukha bhel . Once you come home have some veg. soup and then follow it up with your regular food along with salads and curds. In office try to take a stretching break - just stand up and stretch your body - every 1/2 hour.

I weigh 40 kgs and I am 147cms tall. Even though my diet includes lot of fruits and vegetables still I want you to recommend the perfect diet for me. Do you think I am underweight as many doctors have told me? I do exercises, meditate and practice Reiki daily.
Dear Veena,
Continue doing what you do and be happy with your weight. I don't think you are underweight. Unless you get tired very easily or have a medical problem, you don't need to worry. Eat a good breakfast, follow it with fruits, and dry fruits 2 hours later. Eat a good balanced meal for lunch and dinner. Between meals eat some more fruits and a snack like poha , sandwich etc.
Diet for thyroid patient

For breakfast, eat a cup of upma / poha , cereal, or 2 egg whites with a slice of whole wheat bread, along with a bowl of papaya or melon. Between lunch and breakfast, eat another fruit and 2 almonds and 2 walnuts. For lunch eat a roti , a cup of veggies, a cup of dal or 3 pieces of chicken, a bowl of salad, and a cup of curd. Between lunch and dinner eat 2 servings of fruits and some roasted chana . For dinner eat the same as lunch. Eating at regular intervals will keep your metabolic rate high and will help you to lose weight. If this diet regime is accompanied by some exercise, you will lose weight faster.

Clear and glowy face

Soak 6-8 black currants and 2 red kokums in in 1/2 c of water overnight. Drink the water and eat the currants first thing in the morning with an empty stomach. Also include more fruits, salads, dry fruits, sprouts and paneer in your daily diet and drink plenty of water. These foods will help you to get a glowing healthy complexion and your scars will then not be very prominent.
