The sangeet ceremony in a Hindu marriage is a ceremony much- awaited as it brings with it lots of masti , mazaak and naach-gaana . So, when you're choosing what to wear for your sangeet , it's better not to opt for traditional clothes. Dressing up for your sangeet can be a fun and frolicking affair.
Shaaditimes tells you how...

Fun is in the air
Celebrity fashion designer Neeta Lulla says, "Sangeet is the time when the bride should also participate in the festivities around. So, this summer I would definitely give my thumbs up to lighter clothes which give you a summery feel with sequins or crystal work on them." Check out Neeta's fundas on what to wear for your sangeet.

Dress to sizzle
Sangeet calls for lighter ensemble and brighter clothing. Certainly, the best time to do away with your traditional zardozi sari and gota lehengas . A funky ghaghara with a chic choli can certainly work wonders for you. Or better still try a sequined or crystal sari and team it up with a hip blouse. Try and be as light as possible as far as embroidery and zari work is concerned.

Colours 2005
Sangeet is the time when the spirits are high. There is a lot of festivity in the air. So, its best to dress in brighter and vibrant colours that go with the mood. So, as far as bridal trends 2005 are concerned, Neeta gives her thumbs up to fruity colours like oranges, pinks, yellows, lime green and also vibrant pastels.

Fabrics that'll flatter
Fabrics again should be sheer and fluid, so that, not only are you comfortable but also look your dazzling best. Georgettes, soft crepes and soft tissues would be the best bets. The cuts and the silhouettes should be more trendy and funky. Heavy zardosi embroidery should be done away with. Sequins and crystals are really happening this season and are the best options.
