Fashion Of Craftsmanship - By Madhu Jain & Milind Soman

M. The high art and craft fashion label that was developed by designer Madhu Jain and model-turned-actor Milind Soman recently held a fashion show in Delhi. It is not so much the glamour as the art that appeals to M's patrons.
Madhu Jain uses the uniqueness of Indian craft on materials woven off khadi and bamboo to create an ensemble that appeals to the fashion conscious and the art conscious all at the same time.
The art on these garments has been inspired from the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma to the miniature paintings of the Pahari and Basoli tribes of Jammu. They also roped in stylized jewellery brand Amrapali as part of the unique show. Amrapali showcased stunning jewellery from different eras of India's rich history.
Employing innovation like blending two different traditions or using Kalamkari to portray art forms, Madhu & Milind have redefined hi-fashion with this collection. From Kutch to Orissa and Himachal to Jammu, traditions were brought alive by this culturally rich fashion show.
