Gurpreet Pia Fleming's Fall/Winter 2009 collection at Lakme Fashion Week moved from simplicity to fashion with great ease and then onto ethnicity that was aimed at the international woman.
Reflecting a grey and sombre story inspired by the precious stone mining across Africa, where the industry is in an economic flux; Gurpreet stayed on the dress and coat dress fashion path.
Working with tones of grey and black with a few vibrant ones, Pia added on very interesting and practical detachable jewellery that made dresses move effortlessly from day to evening wear. The silhouettes followed the current lean trend but were comfortable to wear.
Quilted jacket, Chantilly lace dress, Lurex wool dresses, heavy silk wrap ensemble, crushed gold alimentary, and the French knot net long coat with metallic gown were the highlights of the show.
Gurpreet's gorgeous Red Carpet entries in burnished metallic with jewels were the show stoppers of the evening that were created around a fabric line of specially developed brocade, corduroy, silk, taffeta, foil, printed silk, faux fur and charmeuse.
