- Men can use darker shades of olive green, air force blue, beige or off white. This works both for the Indian outfits or the western suits.

For women:
As far as fabrics are concerned, go for something, which gives you that sensual yet classic look. Here are a few clues:
- Softer fabrics like georgettes, chiffons and light silks work well for the outfits designed for the engagement, as they would be perfect for both Indian as well as western outfits.
 - However, if you choose to be traditional, then fabrics like raw silk and georgette, Maheshwari silks or even brocades with borders, can be aptly used to give it a more ceremonial feeling.
For men:
- If you choose to wear a western suit, then polynosic or terry wool would be apt for you.
