Famous places from the booksellers stalls in Paris extending to the open air markets in France such as the renown Place des Luis in St. Tropez, stretching to London's bustling Camden and Naples' herb markets to the ones in Venice... One unifying thread they all bristle with colour, tastes, sounds, and mouth-watering flavours and smells... What was once seen as a women's pass-time for leisure, stress-busting, or simply splurging has turned into a world-wide phenomenon. Open air markets that were once considered passé or filled with inferior products now display their own distinct wares centric to location, culture and custom and are hubs for the well-heeled and trendy around the globe.

Known for its colourful and cost effective bags, shoes, sandals, vibrant clothing, fashion jewellery and other miscellaneous stalls this is one place that you can find anything from a pin, lace, decorative trims, the latest clothing, shoes and bags.

Like colourful bouquets of balloons- bags fill Linking Road. Tons of bags are to be found overflowing from numerous stalls from straw, jutes, cotton, silk and the run of the mill vinyl, lace, beaded, sequenced etc... Prices anywhere from Rs. 150 and up.
The look this year is decorative. Nothing is too much. Bags are encrusted with metals beads, crystals, lace, and net. Meghna loved the coloured bead purses.

The shopping spree wouldn't be complete without the final step. Adorning her feet Meghna liked the sandals also decorated with multitudes of sequences, crystals and bead. Fashion gurus all point to India after Brazil when it comes to finding sandals. India can proudly boast of having every possible type of sandal imaginable. Countless mojaris (original, with stack heel, stilettos) in a range of tones from silver, gold, fuschias, and violets are a favourite of women of all age groups.
