The scent of a woman
Know the power of your perfume - Part I
Your scent can make a guy lust for you, yearn for you and can even make him fall for you. Hence a woman's fragrance not only matters, it wields tremendous power over the opposite sex. A perfume is not just another fashion accessory. Choosing the right perfume can do wonders for your body and spirit.
A perfume is not about a fragrance. It has deeper connotations. Choosing a perfume is not just a matter of smelling the contents out of colourful crystal bottles; it is to experience the chemistry between the fragrance and yourself. Some perfumes leave a lingering trace long after it is worn, while some scents simply fade away. This is because scents react differently with different individuals. They have their own body chemistry.
The key to selecting the right perfume:
When you are out to pick a perfume, choose a fragrance that compliments your personality. Depending upon your personality and preference, perfume tones range from deep, dark, and mysterious (vanillas, sandalwood, and patchoulli) to light, outgoing, airy, and romantic (citrus, rose, gardenia and jasmine). What part of your personality do you want to express and accentuate? What would you like to bring out that isn't apparent to others most of the time?
For example, you are in your mid or late 20's, you love life, are vivacious, faintly seductive, you like the finer things in life, and are able to let your hair down when you really want to - Wear a floral or fruity fragrance. The idea is to create a mood that is refreshing and yet romantic.
If you think you are too cool to wear sweet fragrances, opt for sheer scents that combine watery florals and light oceanic notes. Green fragrances are reminiscent of the smell of freshly cut grass or crushed leaves. Opt for fresh mint, rosemary and thyme. Try scents that are cool, casual, sensual and yet playful.
If you are in your mid thirties, someone who's traditional at heart and yet sassy, flirtatious, individualistic and know exactly what you want - wear oriental notes. The delightful and homely warmth of vanilla forms the sweet base of many fragrances, especially spicy orientals. Almost everybody loves cinnamon, which is why it can be absolutely beautiful as a base note to add spicy interest. Star Anise (a spice), cloves and allspice, give the oriental fragrance an exotic and mysterious appeal while oriental layers like amber, add softness and warmth to a personality.
If you still find it difficult to judge what suits your personality, don't worry... try using a fragrance according to the seasons.
