"Seema's Sky" is a translation of Prakash Trivedi's Gujrati novel "Seemanu Aakash". It has been specially translated by Ashok Dholabhai for shaaditimes. It is a love story and more.
Nikhil was thinking, "Had I known earlier about this match making drama I would have thought twice about coming here. At least I would have brought a small present for Seema. Of course for a New Yorker any present from small town Parkersberg would be unthinkable." He was also wondering whether Seema while guiding him around the city was not trying to draw his attention to the more affluent shopping mall like Gimbles, Masseys, Gucci and Saks Fifth Avenue. She did point out to him landmarks like the Empire State Building, New York Public Library, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the United Nations building, the Lincoln Center of Performing Arts and the lush green Central Park telling him a few things about each of them.

| Why don't you too come up? You can have a wash. New York is dusty although it has its many good points. |

It was nearing 5 and Nikhil was hoping for a hint from Seema to visit 5th Avenue which could give him an opportunity to buy some thing for Seema and thus complete a formality. But before that they had to drop Mami's purchases at the hotel. Nikhil had not had a chance to talk to Mama about what was in Mama's mind. All that they had talked about on their way to the World Trade Center was about relatives back in India and small talk about things in general. His Part 3n the conversation was merely to agree with Mama's views. He felt it was high time to find out what was in Mama's mind.
Nikhil parked his car in a lane near Plaza Hotel. While he and Seema were carrying Mami's shopping Nikhil was fantasising about married life in New York with smart, beautiful and impressive Seema. The biggest question was whether Seema would agree to marry him. "May be I will get a hint from Mami before I go back tomorrow evening," he thought as they entered hotel Plaza.
They were told at the reception counter that Mama and Mami had not yet returned. Could they have gone with Kanubhai to his Forest Hill residence? He would have to find out by ringing up Kanubhai. Seema obviously had the telephone number.
Seema was waiting for him at the elevator when he returned with the room keys. She told him she would wait while he went up to the room. Nikhil was hesitant to ask her to accompany him for fear of being misunderstood. He found a way out by telling her, "Why don't you too come up? You can have a wash. New York is dusty although it has its many good points."
Seema smiled. She helped him to get all the parcels into the elevator. On the way up he compared large dirty, dusty New York with small but squeaky clean Parkersberg. He thought Parkersberg was more suitable to his peace-loving temperament.
