Love and Kush - Part I
|
In the beginning, Megan being a simple kindhearted girl understood and accepted Kush's fears. But even her patience started wearing thin as time flew by. Being a secret girlfriend can't be fun for long. And two years was a pretty long time when one seriously thought about it.
Perhaps, even then the girl would have held her peace if an unexpected acting offer from a TV producer had not come her way. Kush didn't want her to take up that career because he thought his father would disqualify her on that one issue alone. According to the old man, the age of decency had died in the film industry the day they stopped making black and white films and there were no good women or men left in filmdom. Somehow he thought that TV actors were even worse than filmstars.
"Then marry me and help me remain a decent woman." Megan told him one day and then added softly, "or else."
Kush had never heard his sweet ladylove talking this way, and it scared him good and proper. "I can't just go and tell him that I want to marry you," he stammered.
"Okay. Don't tell him, don't marry me." Replied a now very angry Megan.
"No, no. Let me think "
"I don't want a thinking man. I want a marrying type." Megan said and walked away.
The very next day Kush came up with a plan that according to him was bound to be a great success but which was going to put all of Megan's acting ability to test.
"Would your father fall for these tricks?" Megan wondered.
"Oh, he would fall for sure." Kush said trying to look confident.
Two days after that Kush's father called him in his chamber and fired the daylights out of him.
