Dream girl - Part I
"Hey Rohit, you are far luckier to get a wife like Sujata. Don't forget that," he said, trying to correct the situation.
Sujata gave a dry smile. "Come on the dinner is getting cold," she said as she got up.
At least now, she wouldn't have to hear that Seema cooked better...!
"I am going to town today!" said Sujata during breakfast the next morning.
"Hmm..." Rohit replied without looking up from the newspaper.
"My cousin Anjali has come from Kolhapur... You know...
"Hmmm"
"She wants to do some shopping. She has asked me to go with her. I also need to buy a few things!'
"Hmm, buy..."
"A diamond necklace, gold bangles...
"What ...a diamond necklace?"
Rohit jerked his head up. "You want to buy..." putting aside the newspaper, he looked at his wife in amazement.
"No, I don't want diamonds, I just want you to look at me and listen to what I say, when I am speaking! Sujata said calmly.
Rohit took a deep breath and then shook his head grumbling. 'Women...'
"That's better! Now this woman is going shopping and our little woman Prachi is going to stay at my mom's place tonight. So if you happen to come home early..."
"Don't worry, I will manage." Rohit said and got up to get ready to go to office.
After he left, Sujata had a leisurely bath. She washed her hair, cleaned her face with the new scrub, she had bought the other day. After which, she took a long time to decide what to wear and took longer to get ready.
The end result was satisfying. When she looked at the mirror; a very beautiful, attractive lady stared back at her. "Well Anjali, what you have to say today?" Sujata asked aloud and laughed at the reflection.
Sujata had planned to meet Anjali and her sister near the Marine Lines station. She got out of the house and looking at the traffic condition, gave up the idea of taking a taxi or a bus. Taking a train seemed to be the most sensible way.
When she bought a ticket a train was already waiting on the platform. Sujata entered the Second class ladies compartment. At this hour, the compartment was half empty. She went and sat near the window.
As the train was about to start, she heard a woman shouting near the door.
