Of egos and commitments. Of sacrifices and faith.
Yashodhra and Suresh Oberoi

For three years, I lived in a state of guilt...
"She gave me her unconditional support during my struggle," smiles Suresh.
" Also, when I lost my brother in an accident, it jolted me out of my senses. For three years, I lived in a state of guilt. I had no answers for his demise. Every night I would wake up drenched in sweat. My work was getting affected. It was during this phase, that we got attached emotionally and spiritually. Yashodhara really supported me," says Suresh looking fondly at his wife.

My wife showed me the path to spiritualism...
"While I was grieving, Yashodhra took me to a guru . I had to stand in a queue to receive gyan  (wisdom) from her. "I felt, why should I? I am Suresh Oberoi, the star. But that meeting was the turning point in my life. My guru  taught me that pain comes when there is a difference between what you desire and what you have. I learnt to control my ambitions and erased the pain from my life," says Suresh.

Yashodhra, a social worker is a volunteer for an organization called Caring Hearts in Mumbai. She works with cancer and AIDS patients. "I felt that as Suresh was benefited by the gyan  he received, he must pass it on to others too who are going through a similar phase. That's how Soul Classes was born," says Yashodhra.

On their son Vivek...
"Vivek is a family man just like his father. He doesn't suffer fools easily. He is very outspoken and believes in speaking his mind. He loves life and is a mature and sensible boy," says his mother. "He was my companion when we shifted to Mumbai as Suresh was busy with work. "Talking about the unfortunate break-up of Vivek and Gurpreet he says, "they were never made for each other. Their temperaments just did not suit each other."

Their mantra  for a happy marriage...
"An understanding partner," they quote in unison.
