Shaheen & Roshan Abbas share their love mantras

From casual flirting to a serious relationship culminating in marriage and family....that's the love story of Shaheen and Roshan Abbas. Now with their son Arsalaan on toes, Roshan hosting popular TV shows and Shaheen carving her niche in jewellery designing, this is one happy family...always burstling with joy and fervour!
Shaaditimes visits their love nest to find out the secret to their amazing chemistry.
How did you meet?
"Ya... it's a long story. I used to fly for Jet Airways. It was just one of those just out of college jobs. I met him on a Delhi-Mumbai flight. I'm not a TV person and had no clue to who he was but his face seemed familiar. So I asked him whether he was a frequent flyer and he lied 'yes'. Later my friends told me that he is Roshan Abbas and hosts a popular TV show. 6 months later we met again on a Delhi-Bangalore flight and we got really chatty. I introduced him to my friends and we had fun cracking jokes and talking rubbish. We exchanged numbers and then we used to call up and meet. This later culminated to marriage," sighs Shaheen with a grin.
How did he propose?
"We knew each other for a year and a half and we lived together for a year before we got married. But the saddest part is that there was no formal proposal from his side. It was just assumed that now we have to get married. Either we get married or either you go and I go on our own way," says Shaheen.
What was the wedding like?
"Our wedding was a very low key nikah with just family and very very close friends. There was some family issues like I was a Sunni and he was a Shia and so my mom was not very happy.
Also since this was Roshan's second marriage there was a bit of opposition. I was also running high temperature on that day. I have no clue whose clothes I wore and whose jewellery I wore! On our first anniversary we said let's play bride and groom now. We had a huge anniversary party and called half the world. I put mehendi on my feet, hands and everywhere and it was a grand affair!" chirps Shaheen excitedly.
Roshanspeak
"Shaheen has added a dash of colour to my black and white life. She is like a rainbow. At first I used to be angry because I thought why would I have to put so much time for her...but gradually I started loving it. Today I am a much better person and have developed a better outlook to life. Previously I used to work for 365 out of 365 days, now I can step back and enjoy. She is truthful and straightforward. So she acts like a conscience. I depend a lot on her while taking decisions," says Roshan.
