A sonnet - Medha and Anup Jalota
|
What is that one thing that keeps a marriage going?
Anup: Complete faith and trust in each other. Happiness in marriage is an inner satisfaction that one cannot buy. Aapke mehboob ko prasann dekh kar jo khushi milti hai, wohi asli pyaar hai .
Medha: I recall a sonnet by Shakespeare, "Let me not to the marriage of true minds... admit impediments. Love is not love, which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove..." It has a very metaphysical meaning to it. Love does not weaken when the circumstances that gave rise to it are changed. Love is a constant star that glimmers fixed in the sky. Man is a navigator and the relation is a ship. The nature of the sea (life) determines the stability of the ship. During a storm the navigator can measure the star's height to obtain a reading of his own position; thus the star (love) acts both as a symbol of constancy and as a beacon, guiding the voyager.
On each other's strengths and weaknesses.
Anup:
Her strength:
She is full of life and totally honest. She never interferes with my work; she is very loving and a courageous woman.
Her weakness:
She is a perfectionist; she wants every thing spick and span. This is not exactly a weakness but a mental strain on me to be clean and neat. She is very volatile.
External factors easily affect her, which is not good for her health.
Medha:
His strength:
He is very calm, very patient, supportive and extremely caring. He is like a tree always sturdy. Music gives him inner strength.
His weakness:
He puts on weight easily. I tell him to keep this in check, but he just does not listen. Also he can't say no to people. And hence he has no time for us. He wants to make everyone around him happy, which is just not possible.
