The marriage was held on Kashid beach, near Alibaug, Maharashtra. On the first night, we had a beach party, which went on till eight in the morning. We had a Bengali wedding followed by an English dinner - all with reading of vows and toasts.

We had two weddings. For the Bengali wedding I was dressed in a maroon coloured sari and Martin wore a sherwani along with a mukut . For the Christian ceremony I wore a gown and Martin was clad in a suit.

In Bengali weddings, the bridegroom wears a mukut on his head and Martin's friends thought that he was carrying a cake on his head as a tradition. Only after touching it did they realise that it was some kind of a crown and not a cake.
