Neena Gupta's Wedding Bash

This banno rani may have become sayani a bit late in life, but one has to admire her courage. Neena Gupta tied the knot on July 15 in the US with Vivek Mehra. Vivek is a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Recently, the couple hosted an impromptu post-wedding bash for all their close family and friends in Mumbai at the Sahara Star. The bash was well attended by many film and TV celebrities who came in to wish the couple well.
Of course, Neena's close friends Soni Razdan, Kalpana Lajmi and Ila Arun were very much present to celebrate their friend's new love and life. Ila Arun sang to everyone's delight as Soni and Kalpana danced in gay abandon as only true friends can.
Neena was heard saying, ''I know the mehendi and sangeet ceremonies happen before the wedding. I also know I'm past the age of such frolic and fun. But what to do? All my friends are young at heart, and so am I. They all wanted to be part of my marriage even if it was belatedly.''
The actress regrets the fact that her loved ones couldn't attend her 'shaadi' in the US.
'My friends felt so left out. I feel bad about that. That's why I'm happy I went through the sangeet and mehendi ceremonies like in a proper wedding. Never mind if it happened in the reverse order. The important thing is to enjoy what you do in life. And my friends had a ball on Saturday,' Neena said.
Added Kalpana, "Neena is courageous to have grabbed the chance to find domestic bliss at this age. That evening we all celebrated the vibrancy of love and marriage in our middle age. But then shared joy like this cuts across all barriers."
Neena's daughter Masaba looked ravishing like her mother. Since Neena and Vivek refused to pose for the cameras it was left to Masaba to pacify the shutterbugs and pose away she did!
