Mahesh Bhupati and Lara Dutta Tie the Knot

After years of dating each other, Bollywood actress and former Miss India Lara Dutta and Tennis star Mahesh Bhupati finally tied the knot in a civil way on 16 February in Mumbai. The two then headed to Goa to exchange their wedding vows
The couple threw their reception party at Club Fresh at the Candolim Beach. They had been seeing each other for quite sometime but refused to go public about their relationship until Bhupati's divorce with ex-wife Shveta Jaishankar came through. The wedding was attented by quite a few people from the tennis community with the entire Davis Cup team including, Leander Paes, Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna. Also, former tennis player Vijay Amritraj with son Prakash and Indian Fed Cup captain Enrico Piperno attended the reception ceremony.
As far as the Bollywood crowd goes, there was a fair sprinkling from the industry with stars like Ritiesh Deshmukh, Raveena and Anil Thadani, Dia Mirza, Priyanka Chopra and Celina Jaitley to name a few. But Bollywood's big names were missing in a crowd that was specially meant for family and close friends. Just in case you didn't know how the couple met, let us tell you that Bhupati owns a celebrity management company - Globosport, where the two met. Lara was one of his client's and soon cupid struck after which they got engaged in New York last year (2010) and then the wedding bells finally rung a year later.
Here's what Bhupati, a man of few words was recently quoted saying to Lara in a national daily, "You are my companion, partner and best friend. I promise to stick by you through hits and flops and I look forward to growing old with you." That's really cute, must say!
