Star Kids on the Block
|
Bollywood has new faces every year and in 2012 too our film industry has a bunch of fresh, talented newcomers gearing up to make their debut on the silver screen. We list down a few...
- Alia Bhatt
Daughter of: Mahesh Bhatt
This cute dimpled 17-year-old (Pooja and Rahul Bhatt’s step sister) is busy shooting for Dharma Productions and Red Chillies co-production Student Of The Year, set to release in 2012. For a change the film doesn't have Shah Rukh Khan playing the lead. Nothing is known about Alia's role in the film but director Johar says, “Some people think I can make films only with stars and this film will prove them wrong, as Student of the Year has all new faces.” The film revolves around three characters – Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan (son of David Dhawan) and Siddharth Malhotra. We just hope the film is not a rom-com on the lines of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
- Varun Dhawan
Son of: David Dhawan
David Dhawan’s youngest son Varun (23) will be seen playing the lead in Student Of The Year, opposite Alia Bhatt. In fact, it’s also said that the two of them are already seeing each other. David Dhawan, who’s known for giving new comers a chance to prove themselves on the silver screen didn’t launch his son, we wonder why? Anyway, it can’t get better than this for this aspiring debutante. After all, it's a film directed by Karan Johar and a project backed by Shah Rukh Khan.
- Arjun Kapoor
Son of: Boney Kapoor
Arjun Kapoor (24) is all set to make his entry in Bollywood with Yash Raj Films that will soon be announced. Dad Boney Kapoor had plans of launching his son in the remake of Mr India, which is said to go on floors after the release of No Entry 2 in 2012. Arjun was also dating Salman Khan’s youngest sister Arpita sometime back. Yes, he’s lost oodles of weight after Salman trained him to become sturdy and muscular as opposed to his former chubby self.
- Tiger Shroff

Son of: Jackie Shroff
This 20-year-old is a sports enthusiast with special training in martial arts. Buzz is that Jai aka Tiger will be making an entry in Bollywood with a Subhash Ghai film, which was also his dad’s blockbuster hit. Ghai, who launched Jackie in Hero (1983) is all set to make Hero 2 with Tiger. It's also said that Aamir Khan has taken Tiger under his wings. We hope that this macho guy strikes it big like his dad in the industry
- Narmada Ahuja
Daughter of: Govinda
2012 will soon see the debut of Narmada Ahuja. News of her debut film had been making the rounds for a while and finally, this newbie will be spotted in Lovely Singh's Tutak Tootak Tutiyan, opposite Akhil Kapoor (Vinod Khanna's nephew). The director's first choice was said to be boxing champion Vijender Singh for the lead, but Singh refused to be a part of the project.
Here's wishing all the star kids success in their future ventures!
