Akshay & Shilpa At The IDEA - ITA Awards

The 8th ITA Awards held at Bhawans College, Andheri in Mumbai had a huge turnout of celebrities from Tellywood. Bollywood biggies like Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty were present too. The ceremony conceptualized and hosted by Shashi and Anu Ranjan is now considered one of the premiere award ceremonies related to the Indian Television industry.
This year's awards saw a sea of change from all previous years that were dominated primarily by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. Both top serials - Balika Vadhu of Colors and Bidaai of Star Plus - were non Balaji productions. With Kyunki and Kahani both going off air after 8 long years one wonders if the mighty are finally being tamed...
Expected winners included Avika Gor (Anandi of Balika Vadhu) and Surekha Sikari (MaaSa of Balika Vadhu), Fear Factor (Best Reality Based Show) and Boogie Woogie (Best Music / Dance Show). The shocker of the evening had to be best anchor given to SRK for Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tes Hain instead of to Salman Khan for Dus Ka Dum. Are the awards rigged then or is SRK really more popular?
With so many celebs walking the red carpet, here are our highlights of the evening fashion wise:
- Pink Horrors: Aarti Chabbria or Alka Yagnik? Both wore ugly pink salwar kurtas and we cannot decide who was worse... you pick!
- Yellow Yikes! The usually scrumptious Mugdha Godse was wearing a yellow and grey dress that we totally didn't like. The colors were fine but the bodice was plain and simple icky!
- Payal Rohatgi looked like a ghost. Easy on the compact darling. And get rid of the shoes pronto!
- Pooja Bedi was her usual flashy self in loads of skin and lots of red. Wonder if she's back with ex-boyfriend Hanif Hilal? Somehow despite looking a bit tacky, Pooja carries it off.
- Roshni Chopra did not disappoint us - she continues to be as badly dressed as ever - and twice over! Check out both her outfits. Which do you prefer? Or dislike more?
- And the Awards for worst dressed female of the night goes to... Shraddha Nigam! For showing off a paunch with a hairline and almost flashing us! And lets not forget the hair... and she's newly married to boot! Unforgivable.
Then again there were some saving graces... Shilpa Shetty looked lovely as did Twinkle Khanna. Mahima Choudhry also turned up looking fresh and fab and Monica Bedi was looking surprising nice in a yellow outfit (although her makeup could have been better).
