Deepshika on Love, Lust and Diwali
|
Her smile has been compared to Madhuri Dixit and the legendary screen star Parveen Babi, her children adore her as do many of the fans worldwide that have watched the sexy siren morph into a consummate actress essaying elderly, and deeper roles as her career graph continues to climb steadily.
Last seen in the Bollywood flick Partner (as Sexy Bollywood Hunk Salman Khan's sister) Deepiksha has balanced her characters from large screen and television. When not playing fiction she's been busy anchoring the popular television show Kuch Ghap Hai Kuch Sach Hai for GEO TV and working on a few other soaps.
Shaaditimes caught up with Deepshika recently in Mumbai and learned why she has an inexplicable aura, which causes men to swoon and women to sigh...
Love
Means everything to me... It consumes me. Each and every moment of my life I try and fill with love whether I try and give to others, portray it in my characters or fill the small moments of my life with my kids, family and friends in the space of love.
Lust
Well, lust and love go hand-in-hand. You have to lust someone you love and vice-versa. If you're not able to lust someone... there is no love. Lust is important. It's the feeling you can see in your beloved. The way he looks at you. It goes beyond definition.
Envy
When people are in love you feel envy. It is the most elusive, exasperating and most difficult emotion to succumb to and overcome. Yet people do... and with that envy tempers. For love to find you, you must move away from any love that may have disappeared. And if you can do that envy also disappears.
Jealousy
Not me.
Aggression
Yes, I am very aggressive especially when it comes to my career. I work hard, and feel dedicated to my work, which to me is like worship. I spend most of my days filming for television or movies so it is extremely important for me to be a perfectionist. I must clarify I don't compete with others, and only compete with myself.
Best Day in 2008
My Birthday in August celebrated at Club H20. All my friends were there and we had loads of fun.
What are you doing this Diwali?
I'll be holidaying with my kids for sometime, and then back in Mumbai it's a whirlwind round of cards, parties, poojas and valuable moments with my family.
What will you be wearing?
Sarees. All types of designer sarees, which are my favorites. I really enjoy crepes, chiffons with all types of zardozi work.
Any particular designer for 2008?
All of them. India is full of gifted individuals so I would not like to name anyone in particular.
I would like to wish my fans in US, Canada, and the UK a Happy Diwali!
