If not an actress, I would have been a sports star

Tulip is known for her hot and sultry looks. Few people are aware of her deep interest and passion in sports. She takes a "time-out" from both to chat with Shaaditimes. Let's dive into her food and fitness routine.
"If I were not an actress I would have been a sports star," exclaims Tulip at the onset.
Fitness for the 'look'
It is my new found passion. I visit the Powerhouse gym 6 days a week. I have a personal trainer there and spend 1 1/2 hrs daily doing a mix of cardio and weight training. I do some yoga as well.
To feel good about yourself fitness is very essential. You have to be comfortable in your own skin. But what you are aiming to achieve from fitness varies. For instance, fitness to a heart patient is different from the person who wants to get the 'look'.
As an actress fitness is important because you have more choice of clothes, you look better on screen and feel more confident.
I have studied nutrition and know a bit of all. The worst mistake anyone makes is to go out for walk after dinner because after you have food your stomach is busy digesting the food and at that time you end up burning less calories.
Had a 'ball' of a time
I started taking interest in sports when I was 9 yrs old. I was into athletics. I have played basket ball, hand ball and volley ball and have excelled in all three of them. I had been selected for the state level games and had broken records. But now-a-days I don't put in so much time for sports but I love to go for trekking. Last year in the monsoons I went trekking to Khandala with a group of friends. I am also associated with Kimaya health care where we learn a lot of the spiritual side.
No desi platter
I am a complete foodie. I love Italian food. I don't like heavy food so I avoid a lot of Indian food. But I like barbecue foods. I don't like spicy stuff.
I used to have a big sweet tooth when I was in school. I used to binge on chocolates and cakes. I had once finished a 1/2 kg cake. I was a mad person and could have 7-8 gulab jamuns. I love Bengali sweets, specially those made of milk like kheer kodom. I also love Italian ice creams. But I have cut down on sweets now.
Diet wise
I eat everything but try and limit all my intakes. I have tried giving up various food but soon I realised that the more you give up, the more you dream about it, the more you crave and land up in a mess.
I don't have a fixed meal routine. Everyday of my life is different. It depends whether I am working or at home, whether I am into diet or not. I don't like monotony. I have to have different food everyday. I do not have a set life. Some days I wake up at 5am, some days when I sleep late I feel lazy and stay in bed longer. So I can't keep a track with a routine diet plan.
Cooking cap
I am a decent cook. I can cook some of the Indian and Italian dishes ranging from mutton to veggies. My friends love my Mutton masala and Roast chicken with garlic bread.
Fave haunts
I love street food at Bademiya and Elco Arcade which has become a restaurant now. But I have cut that down now. My all-time favorite is Spices. I generally like quiet places to hang out with my friends. Mostly I end up meeting them in my club.
Beauty tips
For a healthy skin water is very important. I have at least 8-10 litres of water a day. My complexion is genetic. But you have to take good care. Moisturise your skin, both face and body at least twice a day. You can use anything which suits your skin. Keep hydrating it internally and externally for that glow.
Also don't overdo your make-up. And don't start wearing make-up from your childhood or teen days. Those are the years when you are growing and should let your skin breathe. Sleep is also very essential.
For my hair I use protein treatment once a month. Protein power packs are available in stores and you can use them at home.
