Kadak chai, bhelpuri, dosas for Shamita
Shamita Singha began modelling professionally in 1999. Since then she has covered a wide spectrum from international pageants to ad campaigns and runway shows.
Being an animal rights and a green world activist, Shamita rightly deserved the title of Miss India Earth 2001. After claiming this title she went on to win 5 subtitles at the same beauty pageant and from then on got her share of fame.
Shamita has now joined the B4U VJ bandwagon...
To achieve all this, one surely needs a dream bod. Shamita shares her fitness secrets exclusively for the ShaadiTimes readers.
Fitness
I believe that fitness means the perfect mix of healthy food and exercises. If either of them is missing, fitness might just be missed. I eat healthy and exercise everyday. I don't do much of the weight training. I concentrate more on free hand and cardio exercises. I swim, jog and walk a lot.
Diet
I eat a low carb diet. No rice or bread for me. I eat lots of salads. I am a vegetarian and I include lots of fruits, vegetables and soya in my diet.
Breakfast I start my day with fruits, vegetable juice,an egg white omelette and a bowl of whole wheat corn flakes.
Lunch I prefer Indian lunch. I eat soya rotis , vegetables, low fat curd and a bowl of dal.
High Tea I love kadak chai . I can't do without my coffee too. I don't drink instant coffee. I get fresh coffee beans and grind them myself. Along with the tea or coffee, I take some soya chaklis or peanuts or almonds. I love eating bhel puri and chat.
Dinner I like continental food for dinner. Boiled vegetables, mashed potatoes, salads and clear soup is my usual dinner.
Favourite Cuisine
I love South-Indian food. I like idli dosas . I also like Thai food very much. My favourite meal is the sizzler at the Yoko's.
Cooking
I love cooking. I cook many things but I like making continental recipes. I enjoy cooking pastas and different kinds of salads. I like making salads with mushroom and tofu.
Dinner date
I would like to go to a place that has a nice ambience. I like soft lights and lounge music. A glass or two of red wine would be ideal to start with and then of course a light meal.
Shamita's Hot n Cold Salads
Use fresh palak leaves, fresh cut bell pepper and American corn for the cold part. Put one small spoon of honey, garlic flakes, olive oil, small spoon of mustard sauce for dressing.
For the hot part, use olive oil and saute tofu and mushrooms in garlic, onion, black pepper and salt.
Put the hot salad on top of the cold salad and serve.
For those who don't like tofu, it may be replaced with paneer.
