Sandhya Mridul Saathiya, Waisa Bhi Hota Hai - Part 2, Page 3 . Sandhya Mridul made her mark in all of them. A much recognised face now, Sandhya is also known for the speed she talks with. Very outspoken and straight forward, she is often misinterpreted as an arrogant actor.

Mirch Masala
I am not a big foodie... I eat to live. I always prefer ghar ka khana . Since I belong to Rajasthan, I love spicy food. I cannot survive without green chillies and rice. I even carry them in my lunch box on the shoot!! Mostly I have vegetarian dishes with lots of salads. I have non-veg once a week like fish or chicken. Red meat is a strict no-no for me. I don't follow any strict diet plans. I love to have vada pav , samosas  and aloo ka paratha . I can eat them at any time during the day. I don't know if I have a sweet tooth because I eat only selected sweets. I love ice-creams, rasgoollas, gulab jamuns and jalebis. I can have 6 rasgoollas  at a time! I believe in enjoying life to the fullest.

Going bananas
I love most seasonal fruits like bananas, oranges, grapes, melons and mangoes. I have 3-4 bananas everyday! I don't much like water melon. I include plenty of water and fresh fruit juices in my everyday diet. I drink 3-4 glasses of hot water every morning. Then I have coconut water, barley water, chaas , nimboo pani  and fresh fruit and vegetable juices which I make at home.

Cooking cap
I learnt cooking all by myself and when I came to Delhi and started staying alone. I surprised myself by cooking a decent dish at the very first go. My mom is a very good cook and I managed to impress her when she came to stay with me. I think I have a good sense of spices. I don't follow any recipe or rule book. I take time and experiment with a glass of wine or juice at the kitchen table. Being a good cook is almost like being a good actress. It comes naturally - either you have it in you or not; there is no mid-way. My friends come over my place to enjoy some authentic North Indian food like kadi chawal , chole puri  or rajma chawal.

Favourite restaurant
I hate going out to bars and discs. I catch up with my friends at their home or call them over to my place. I love Chinese cuisine and love the food at China Gate Restaurant. I don't like Italian and French cuisine.

Skin care secrets
Before taking up acting, my mother used to apply besan  and malai  on my face and dahi  in my hair. Besan  and malai  are natural scrubs cum cleansers cum moisturiser and dahi  works as natural conditioner. I follow this routine even now and it work wonders for me!

Bournvita baby
The secret source of my energy is magical. People call me Bournvita Baby because they say I am vivacious and brimming with life always. Basically I am very physically active. I run, play sports like badminton and volley ball. I even carry my badminton rackets to my shoot and play when I get time. Sports makes me very happy. It takes me to a high as my adrenalin gets all charged up. I love swimming, specially in sea water in Goa. It is a wonderful way to relax and literally chill out. It works as a stress buster for me.

Daily Dose

Leisurely breakfast
3-4 glasses of hot water
Coconut water every alternate day
5 badams  soaked over night
Cereals / bean sprouts / poha  / white bread

At around 11 am
Fruit platter where banana is a must

Quick lunch
Dal , sabzi , 2 roti , 1 small cup of rice (must), dahi

Snacks
Samosas  or vada pav  and herbal tea

Early dinner
Salads, soups, dal , sabzi  and non-veg once a week


I don't like any routine schedules. Hence I don't follow any particular fitness plan. I skip and change from one thing to another to keep active and fit. I practice with my trainer only for 3 months in a year. I practice yoga twice a day for one hour. I don't like to go to the gym because I am an outdoor person and do not like exercising with the AC on and people chit chatting around me. Instead I work out on the terrace or park with my trainer. Also I love to go out jogging in the rains. I feel so close to nature and sweat and rain makes a wonderful combination!
