Rajesh Khera clean bowled
"Thank God a bald head is a fashion statement."

Rajesh Khera Rajesh Khera came to Mumbai in August 1993, with Rs 600 in his pocket and acting on his mind. He made his mark with films like Samay, Om Jai Jagadish, Tum Bin , Taal  and Hu Tu Tu  and TV serials like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. ShaadiTimes catches up with him to find out what tantalizes his taste-buds.

North so good!
Though I love food I cannot be labeled a foodie. For me food is just a way to keep healthy and fit. I do not follow any diet chart but I control sweets and alcoholic intakes with my will power. But I have a sweet tooth and love Tiramisu, kheer, gajar ka halwa  and ice creams. My favourite drink is Bacardi with coke and water. I like less spicy and less oily food. I like ghar ka khana  which is primarily North Indian dishes. However, I do not carry home food when shooting outdoors. Tandoori  dishes are my favourite, it could be anything chicken, fish, sea food, mutton. Other than Indian delicacies I like Lebanese, Chinese and occasionally pasta.

Spice of life
My spice of life would be to be pampered by my girl friend. I love it when she comes over and cooks a meal for me!
I prefer not to cook. When I did not have a cook I used to cook myself some simple dishes. I can cook some chicken dishes which I had learnt from my friend's mom. But if I invite someone home I would rather order food from a good restaurant. I am horrible with masalas  and if I have to cook for 4-5 people I'm sure that all the masalas  will go wrong.

Fitness mantra
I am not a fitness freak. But I like a well-toned body so I go to the gym at least thrice a week and that too for 2 hours. I think that is enough for me. As I am not a very early riser I do not go for morning walks or jogs. But I like to play basket ball and that too helps to knock off some extra kilos.

Daily Diet
Morning: Omlette with 3 Egg whites, tea and 3 slices of brown bread
Daytime: Fruits like bananas, apples, pears, oranges and cherries. I only avoid mangoes.
Lunch: Dal, sabzi and 4 rotis. I avoid rice.
Evening: Paratha or Idlis
Dinner: 3 rotis, sabzi and dal. If I go out for dinner I include a non-veg dish in the menu.
Water: 3-4 bottles a day.

How essential is it for an actor to have a good physique?
It depends in which slot you fit into. If you are a comedian then physique is not that important. But if you are the hero then you have to take care of your physique. I want to look prim and proper so that the clothes fit in well and I look good. Career comes in as the secondary reason for keeping trim. I would give myself a 7 on 10.

What would you like to change in your appearance?
Well, initially, I used to be sad because of my scanty hair so I shaved it off. Now I am used to my bald head. Thank God it has turned out to be a fashion statement otherwise I would be miserable.

Name any one person whose body would you kill for?
I do not like heavy duty muscles. A flat stomach and decent built is good enough. I like Akshay Kumar for his rock solid frame.

Ideal date
I would love to go on a date with Priety Zinta. Though I do not know her personally I feel she is a chirpy bubbly girl unlike artificial and snobbish people in the industry. I would like to take her to my favourite joint Poptates. It is a very grounded place with a cool atmosphere. I think she will love it.

Time pass
Earlier I hopped around a lot in Barista and Cafe Coffee Day but now generally I like to cosy up with my friends at each other's home. Sometimes I also frequent Hawaiin Shack a pub in Bandra or Toronto in Juhu. I like the retro music of the 80's. I love the food at Pop Tates at Andheri. Their stir-fried chicken marinated with pepper salt is my hot favourite.
