| I don't do weight lifting because I am a girl, says Bobby Darling |
|
Bobby Darling is in the news for various reasons. Her break-up with her partner, her sex change, all make headlines. In an exclusive to ShaadiTimes she speaks about her beauty and food routine. She also shares her fave recipe, beauty secrets and speaks about her dream date.
Food for thought
"Food means life to me. I feel energized just by looking at green vegetables. I am not fussy at all and eat everything. However, the food that I eat should look attractive to me."
Two faces
"I don't have any breakfast. I am a different person. Just a glass of hot water, mixed with 2 tbsp of honey, and the juice of 1 full fresh lime is enough.
After which I don't eat for three hours. It burns extra fat. I follow this religiously.
Lunch is at 12:30 which consists of green vegetables, a little khichidi or chapati and dal, lots of salad, pickle, papad and boondi raita."
"However if I'm shooting I have lunch on the set itself. I am very flexible with food and the oily set lunch doesn't bother me.
In the evening I have some snacks, or I have milk with Roohafza. Its my favourite. For dinner I have stuffed parathas. I also keep in mind to have a glass of hot water after dinner."
"Apart from that I fast on Thursdays when I don't eat salt for 24 hours and generally have besan (gram flour) pancakes without salt. I must confess that I have a big sweet tooth. I love rasgullas, gulab jamuns, kajju katri and chocolates. So much that I can wipe out 12 to 15 rasgullas at one go!"
Spice girl
"I love spicy vegetarian food. I like both, north and south Indian food. I am from Delhi and so I crave for typical North Indian food. Whenever I eat the typical north Indian dal-rice, I feel that mujhe jannat mil gayi !
In fact I can even cook a few north Indian dishes. For south Indian food, I go to Shreeji restaurant, which is very close to my house, or Shiv Sagar. I love the Pav bhaji at Siddhivinayak restaurant in Juhu, Mumbai. I also love chaat."
A good cook
"I can cook most of the north Indian dishes. I make excellent rajma.
Generally people soak Rajma overnight, but I don't because it loses its nutritive value."

Daily exercise
"I am not a regular at the gym and only go to the gym sometime to do cardio. I am a girl, so I don't do weight lifting.
Apart from that I don't follow a particular workout regimen as my daily jogging makes up for that."
Bobby's Beauty Tips
"I go to the parlour only for waxing and for my eye brows.
For my skin, I apply a paste made of besan (gram flour), turmeric powder, sandal wood powder and raw milk once a week.
The secret behind my beautiful hair is the 12 wigs I have. I am actually bald. But I do massage my scalp with oil and cover it for sometime with a hot towel once a week."
Beauty tips
- For dark circles, take 1 tsp honey with luke water in a spoon. Apply it around the eyes in a clock-wise and anti clock-wise direction and massage it softly. Leave it for an hour and wash it with plain water.
- For healthy hair, mix henna powder in enough tea water (for this, boil tea leaves in water and strain) and soak it over night. Next morning, add some lemon juice and then apply it to the hair. Keep it for an hour or more and wash off with plain water. Do not shampoo.
- Be a vegetarian.
- Wash face with raw milk in the morning, it gives a good glow to the skin.

On a date with Akshay Kumar
"I would like to go on a date with Akshay Kumar because he is the sexist man on earth! I like him because he is a vegetarian. He is not a gym person but still has a fit body.
My dream date with him would be somewhere close to the sea where I would treat him to vegetarian food."
