Rushad Rana: Bollywood Bawa Debonair Dude
|
Prose, Perfection and Women!
Currently seen on television in Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyan on Sahara and India Calling on STAR this Parsi hero has steadily seen his career graph climb as his characters become deeper and his roles more complex. Remember Rani's confidante / lawyer in Veer Zara and Gul Panag's husband in Dor?
Shaaditimes caught up with Rushad to find out how far he would go for love? No shades of grey here - just black and white.
On love
"For love, if you want to conquer - conquer with love."
And anyone knowing Rushad would understand. Unlike the villains portrayed on screen, Rushad off screen is a voracious reader. "I do love reading books, Heartfelt is my favourite. Another one is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho."
A B.A. in philosophy from Mumbai's famous Mithibhai College (Juhu) he loves travelling the world and hanging out at Cinemax and Infinity Mall in Mumbai.
His first love?
"She was someone in school. Four years later I found the courage to tell her how I really felt about her and that I loved her, but the answer was no."
His perfect woman
"I don't go for typical model perfect women. I love simplicity. She must be an individualist. And I don't want someone who is a money trap. I would want to be with someone who would love me whether I am a struggling actor or tomorrow number one character hero," he muses.
He continues, "And I think with stardom it does become difficult to separate the 'real' from the 'reel'," he laughs. He continues, "I mean despite conscientiously trying to maintain a normal life a career in films and television does change your life. At this stage in my life the girl would have to be the right girl. She would have to not only meet my expectations (and I hers) but she would have to meet my parent's expectations too."
He pauses for a moment, "And I think most likely she would have to be a Parsi because we would share the same background, religion, ideals and goals." He adds, "also the same food," he jokes. "No seriously, I love chicken farcha (although it does taste a lot like A and W's Chubby Chicken)."
Best date
"A cafe in the boat with a friend," he remembers. "I think I may have even proposed to her. She declined my offer of matrimony. It was one of those things that didn't work out, but I wanted to tell her how I felt and I am glad I did."
Worst feeling
"Rejection," he states matter of factly and then adds, "You get over it. Life goes on..."
