Who Is Your Fav. Mythological Character And Why?
Celeb Speak
|
Brilliant epics that touch lives across all Indian communities leave a mark on one and all. We have read them since our childhood and grown up to know them better.
We ask our celebrities who their favourite mythological character is and why? The top spot is a toss up between Lord Krishna and Ganpati Bappa with the latter having a slight edge.
Arshad Warsi: Laxmi is my favourite. I pray to her everyday for wealth and prosperity.
Lara Dutta: I love Ganesh ji. He is just so adorable. But for me he is real and not a mythological character because he is a part of my life and a source of strength.
Ritesh Deshmukh: Ganpati Bappa is my favourite and I have been worshiping him since I was a child.
Ashish Choudhury: I don't have a favourite character as such but I do find all the mythological characters very interesting.
Bipasha Basu: Maa Durga is my favourite character because I am a Bengali and I worship her. She is a symbol of courage and strength for me.
Kay Kay Menon: I like Arjuna because he is humble and accepts his flaws and mistakes… as mentioned in the Gita.
Minisha Lamba: Hanuman is my all time favourite character. Not only is he a loyal bhakt of Shree Ram ji but a character with great personality.
Raghu Rai (Noted Photographer): Krishna. I think he represents quite a lot. He stands out even in the modern world as a great individual. He is surrounded by sakhis and at the same time he puts the Mahabharata into shape.
Shibani Kashyap (Singer): My favourite mythological character would be Lord Shiva.
Sharadh Jagtiani (Actor, Model): My favourite mythological character would be Lord Krishna. He is naughty and the centre of all attention when it comes to women. I admire that a lot.
Siddharth Kanan (TV Host): My favourite mythological characters are Lord Ganesh, Hanuman Ji and Lord Krishna. I have them in every room of my house. I like them because they are all naughty and fun Gods. I relate to each one of them. I think I am just like them, fun loving, loyal, flirty and finally, very cute.
Deepankar De (Bengali Actor): I'm fond of Kali. (Why?) Maybe because of some stories I've heard of her-I was highly influenced by the symbolic meanings of the stories of Kali and Shiva that I heard as a child.
Nondon Bagchi (Foodie, Musician): That's a difficult question. Let me think. I would say Bhima. He did things from his heart and not from his mind. A strong man - mighty, loyal, reliable and simple. He had a huge heart and could take on the world. That is amazing. Quite inspiring.
So, now that you know whom our celebrities revere, who's your favourite mythological character?
