What was his father's advice before he stepped into the arc-lights?
Says Mimoh, "His only advice was that I give 100% to everything I did. 'Be honest to yourself and your work and be honest to your family,' he said. I injured a muscle in my right leg on the sets and all he said was, 'Don't let the shoot be called off. Your left leg is fine!'"
Though Mimoh loves Hrithik Roshan's and Shahid Kapoor's dancing, likes Priyanka Chopra and admires Sunny Deol for his action, he adores his father and his range. "Dad was never only a good action hero or dancer," raves the youngster. "He did both, he was a romantic hero and was great at emotions too. He never prepared for any role, but there was a sachaai and authenticity in his performances because he really understood his character, whether it was Ramakrishna Paramhans, a criminal, a street-side goon, a middle-class family man or a cop."
Mimoh has already signed Popcorn Entertainment's Loot, an action comedy with Suniel Shetty, Govinda and Javed Jaffrey. He is also doing Raj N.C.Sippy's Hamilton House, a period thriller, Salim (Akhtar)'s next as a rock star and a film called India Rocks.
And is he influenced by his mother too as an actor?
"Oh, I know she was a top star who worked with every top hero including dad. But I cannot bear to see her romance any other hero and so I do not watch her films. I am cool with dad serenading other girls, though. Guess that's a bit chauvinistic!" he laughs, adding that he also stays away from the films that co-starred his parents as "No son can watch his parents romancing without being thoroughly embarrassed!"
So does he have a girlfriend now that he has slimmed down?
"I am not telling you!" he grins and adds, "But my first crush was Malaika Arora-Khan on her show Loveline on MTV! I was crazy about her, man! I would record her show, watch every one 3-4 times, have her photographs in my room and do all sorts of crazy things. Today, we are very close to the Khan family, but they do not know about this!" And Mimoh smiles.
