In love with life: Kunal Kapoor
 What is the relationship you share with your co-star Tabu?
My relationship with Tabu was not something special or even the best-friends kind. We were reasonably friendly and we still are. I knew her earlier too, but it was more on 'hi' and 'bye' terms. I was too much in awe of her because she is such a wonderful actress. That stopped me from getting friendlier with her. I have always seen her as a great actress and that awe factor keeps the relationship from growing. We did have our moments and spoke about lots of things during the shootings. We had a wonderful time together.
Would it be a 'love marriage' or 'arranged marriage' for you?
I will definitely prefer a 'love marriage' because it is very important for me to know the person I am getting married to. I don't think that you can generalise and say that arranged marriage works or love marriage works... both have their pros and cons. It is important for me to see how compatible I am with my wife-to-be. I wouldn't like to make major adjustments once I am married.
What does marriage mean to you?
The stage at which I am now, I can say I do not believe in the institution of marriage. Marriage is a lovely institution, provided you marry out of choice. But as things stand, it is a social requirement; you have to do it and if you don't, it's a stigma. I don't believe in anything that is a burden or a stigma. If someday you meet someone with whom you want to spend the rest of your life, then marriage is beautiful. It brings along certain responsibilities and commitments and if you are ready to take them on, marriage can be wonderful.
Are relationships destined?
I think everything in life is destined. But, I believe, two people come together because of karma. Two people give and take from each other because they are meant to do so. But I don't think marriage is destined. Two people coming together is destiny, but marriage is a man-made thing.
Destiny brought you Dipannita Sharma. What makes her special in your life?
There are lots of things that make her special. I like her innocence. She has been a model for a long time now, but in her heart she is still a little girl. She is very unaffected by things around her. She is very happy in her own little world. She doesn't have too many wants or needs. She is happy being what she is. I think all this is lovely. I respect her for that and I love her for that. I have a tendency of basing my life and views on other people's thinking, but she is not like that.
What do you dream of?
Dreams are many... and dreams change everyday. What I dream today is not the same as what I dreamt a year ago. Sometimes you wake up and want to be rich and famous... sometimes you wake up and want a peaceful and quiet life... dreams are constantly changing. I just want to be happy doing whatever I want to, whether it is work or relationship. My dream is to always be happy.
What is your philosophy in life?
Life is not a destination... it is a journey. One should stop seeking answers and just live every moment to the fullest. The more answers you seek... the more complicated life becomes. To live life means to enjoy life!
