|

Shaaditimes meet the woman with a million dollar smile...
Kirronji something about your latest movie - Mummy-ji...
This is a distinct commercial film. Though I play the role of mother in this film too it is very different from my other films. Here I play Mummy-ji - a new age Mother India or 'the very today's mom'. Though the title of the film is Mummy-ji, the film revolves around the relationship Mummy-ji has with every character in the film - right from her children to her husband to her friends, her neighbour and even the maid.
How do you relate yourself with the character in this film? Any resemblances?
NO, none at all. The character I play in this film and myself are two different individuals. Yes, I MAY react or respond the same way to certain situations as I did in the film, but we are not the same.
Any reservations about working with a debutante director?
To be very frank - I wasn't worried. Pammi Somal (the producer-director-writer of the film) is a close friend of mine. We know each other from quite a long time. When she narrated the script to me, I just couldn't say no. Not once did she make us realize that this is her first film. She is very relaxed on the sets.
I had fun doing this film. I loved everything about the film. The scenes, the songs just everything. I love to dance. I can dance till wee hours. I love catchy songs. And I have danced in this film .You can see me just enjoying the dance.
Did you enjoy working with a set of newcomers?
All of them were very determined and hard working. We developed a great rapport on sets working together. Everyone on the set was relaxed and comfortable. We had a blast.
Your most memorable moment or scene in the whole film...
The film was partly shot in Chandigarh in my own house. In one of the scenes my parents have appeared in the film for the first time. That scene shall remain my best scene in the whole film. Though the film is over, the memories shall never fade.
What is the USP of the film according to you?
(Thinks for a moment) I guess the film is about today's woman. She is so complete that the film is not about only a mother but about a mother who is also a woman.
What message does the film convey?
I think if any film conveys a message then it is boring. On the other hand if you get any message while watching the film then the film is much more successful.
What's your next project?
My next film Om Shaanti Om is slated for release soon. I can't reveal much about the film but the role essayed by me is very different and interesting. There are few more films. Just wait and watch.
Kirronji, have you ever thought of directing or producing a film?
Well... not really. But yes, I would love to write a book. I can't tell you exactly what the genre will be, but you will come to know when I am through with it.
