I won't talk about Zaheer Khan, declares Isha
Her name "Isha" means goddess, and "Sharvani" means Parvati. A gymnast, trained in martial arts, yoga, ballet, kathak and aerial dance, the beautiful Isha Sharvani's lithe body and gorgeous looks certainly cast a spell. In an intimate conversation the daring damsel gives an insight into her life, love and relationships.
So, how's life been after 'Kisna'? Have you signed any other movie?
Life's been great after 'Kisna'. I am also getting a lot of offers, but they are still in the finalizing stage. So, until I sign on the dotted line let's not talk about it. But, one thing's for sure... you'll be seeing a lot of my movies in the coming years.
Apart from that, right now I am busy with 'Postcards from God' -- which is a play that combines acting, poetry, theater, multimedia and music. It's something, which is very close to my heart, also because my mother is working with me in this.
How do you maintain your flexible body?
I am heavily into yoga and I practice it every day, for around one and a half hour, come rain or sunshine. Besides that I don't think I need to go to the gym as my hectic yoga sessions make up for it.
Diet wise, I am not really careful. I have a really bad sweet tooth -- I can wipe out a box of Kaju Katri at a single go! I am a very ghar ka khana kind of person and I relish my regular dal, chawal and roti. I am a pure vegetarian.
What is the 'real' Isha Sharvani like?
I am a simple and a very home-sick girl. I cannot stay away from my family, my mother, my dad and most of all my brother, who's like a toy without battery for me. I have spent every moment of my life with my family and have got a unique and remarkable upbringing. My family is the center of my life and I miss being home in Kerala. I am still coming to terms with the fast paced life of Mumbai.
Tell us about the crushes you had during your growing up years.
I guess everybody has his / her share of crushes as its all a part of growing up. I had a crush on a very studious boy. He was very very studious with thick glasses and was always buried inside his books! But still he was so sweet and looked so cute. I admired him a lot and used to stare at him quite often. But never had the courage to go up to him and confess. It was all so sweet!
Of course, I was very small at that time. Now, I strongly feel that personality and looks do matter but in the long run it's important that you and your partner share a mutual trust and a special bond, so that you are able to understand the fate of the relationship.
Do you believe in marriage?
I would love to get married. I think marriage is a great institution and should involve a lot of thought process. It's about finding the right person, someone who is your friend even when you are 60 years old and become toothless. It's all about companionship and living life for each other. It's a special bond shared by two people, it's so divine and pure.
So, what would you prefer a love marriage or an arranged marriage?
Honestly, I must admit that I very very romantic at heart and always believed in true love. So it would definitely be a love marriage for me. But not right now, may be in a couple of years.
Are you in a relationship right now?
No, I haven't found the right guy yet.
But recently there were rumours linking you and cricket sensation Zaheer Khan.
If I were seeing someone, I would have announced it. Besides that, I would like to keep mum on this issue as the media has blown the whole thing out of proportion and made it a gossip. But now I've decided to keep my mouth shut. I won't say anything about Zaheer Khan.
But do you know him as a friend?
I said I won't comment because whatever I say it would be misquoted or misinterpreted. So, I better keep out of it.
