Hrithik Roshan: An ego-less communication is the secret of any relationship!
On why he is so choosy now:
"Two of my three hits have been with my dad. People say that my father reserves the best for me as his son. But the truth is that he is so charged with giving beyond 100%, and if that is because I am his son then I think that every director should treat every hero like his son, which they don't!"
"Besides this, I don't think that I have the talent to handle five or ten assignments. I think that any talent is the consequence of hard work and practice. Initially I signed films in which I would get to do various things a classic Hindi film hero did. It was when I started working on Koi...Mil Gaya that I realized what real acting and getting into a character was all about - and suddenly the other films that I was doing at that time became unwelcome distractions to the focus I wanted to put into my role."
On his co-stars:
"Yes, Preity Zinta obviously plays the cameo of my mother, since I am Rohit's and her son. But we have arranged it so that I do not have any scene together with my romantic heroine of three films! Rekha- ji is my grandmother and I co-star with Priyanka Chopra, and they are amazing co-stars, Rekha Aunty being someone I know since I was a small kid. As for Naseeruddin Shah, I don't think that I am qualified even to compliment such a wonderful actor!"
On six years of marriage:
"If a husband and wife are on the same wavelength, marriage is pretty uncomplicated. Ego-less communication comes in again, but Suzanne and I both naturally work at those seemingly unimportant small things that magically make for a good marriage. And to remain on the same wavelength you just need to spend quality time together and be involved in your own way in each other's activities."
On his other home production, son Hrehaan:
"I can now proudly say that I have finally created something absolutely perfect! I had hoped for a baby girl, but I am happy because my son is a great looker, which is entirely because he looks just like Suzanne! And fatherhood is real fun. As for his name, it was selected by Suzanne and me because it means 'God's chosen one'. After thinking over hundreds of names it sounded just right when she uttered the word. And contrary to reports, it was I who decided on the spelling, and not because of numerology. Numerology alone cannot make you an achiever!"
