Do We See A Delhi-Mumbai Fash Frat Divide?
|
The whisper is that there is a serious divide among the fashion fraternities of Mumbai and Delhi. While the word might not be out in the press, the idea is floating. And with the two cities having their own fashion weeks and few designers participating in both, the story is creating an earful. We asked the celebrities what do they think of having two fashion weeks?
Ritu Kumar: It leads to a fashion kill so it would be better if they are united again and have a united identity.
Manav Gangwani: It is brilliant…more buyers more business.
Ashima-Leena: It gets a bit hectic having two different fashion weeks but then it provides more days for the buyers because if they are not free during one week they can come for the next.
Rocky S: The more the merrier and it also gives a new platform to young designers to showcase their talent and creativity.
Vikram Phadnis: Great idea. Looking forward to it.
Meher Bhasin: It is ridiculous. Buyers are confused, sponsors are confused, agencies are confused and it's leading to animosity between people. We have one cricket team to represent India so we should have one fashion week also.
Sunil Sethi (Merchandiser, celebrity): It gets very tiring.
